Performance When It Matters Most

OODA DEV Defensive Handgun II is an intermediate-level handgun course for shooters ready to bridge the gap between controlled-range competence and real-world capability. This program advances beyond baseline mechanics to develop repeatable performance, disciplined execution, and sound decision-making under pressure.

Instruction centers on taking weapon-handling proficiency—the ability to efficiently and confidently run the gun, to the next level. Building on foundational skills, students develop proficiency in clearing failure-to-fire and double-feed malfunctions, from various positions and on the move, improve processing of information, and apply accurate fire while managing time, distance, and uncertainty.

The course also introduces critical defensive concepts including cover versus concealment, foundational positional shooting principles and shooting on the move. This training emphasizes performance on demand, reinforcing not only how to shoot effectively, but how to prioritize threats, adapt in real time, and articulate defensible actions when outcomes matter.

This course is moderately more physically demanding than entry-level training. Its purpose is to reveal limitations, sharpen judgment, and replace hesitation with clarity. Participants leave with the ability to self-diagnose performance, measure progress, and operate predictively rather than reactively—a decisive factor in high-stress encounters.

This course is for those who refuse to rely on assumptions, luck, or untested skills when innocent lives may be at risk.
