The OODA DEV Tactical Rifle – Basic Introduction Course is designed for responsible private citizens who want to safely, confidently, and responsibly learn how to operate a modern defensive carbine rifle.
Whether you are a new rifle owner, considering purchasing a defensive carbine, or simply want to better understand how to safely manage a rifle that may be present in your home, this course provides the essential foundation every responsible rifle owner should possess.
Many people are curious about tactical rifles but hesitate to pursue training because the environment can feel intimidating or overly technical. This course removes those barriers. Our instructors provide clear instruction, professional coaching, and a structured learning environment where students can build confidence step by step while developing safe and responsible habits.
This course establishes the non-negotiable foundation of safe rifle handling, reinforcing the mindset and responsibility required for anyone who owns, may own, or have reason to handle firearms.
Students are introduced to the OODA DEVelopment mindset—the awareness, responsibility, and decision-making framework that every firearm owner should understand long before stress, fear, or consequences enter the equation. The focus is not competition or performance for its own sake, but safety, sound judgment, and informed decision-making.
Classroom instruction provides practical familiarization with the modern defensive carbine rifle, helping students understand how the rifle functions, how to safely handle it, and how to properly configure it for reliable use.
Students will also receive guidance on proper rifle setup, including optic or scope mounting, establishing a proper zero, and understanding how equipment configuration influences accuracy, reliability, and usability.
Once the fundamentals of safe handling and rifle configuration are established, students transition to the range for a controlled introduction to basic rifle shooting fundamentals.
Through structured coaching, students learn and practice foundational positional shooting techniques, including:
• Standing
• Kneeling
• Seated
• Prone
These positions reinforce safe rifle operation while helping students develop stability, control, and confidence behind the rifle.
This course fills a critical gap many households and shooters overlook: understanding firearms well enough to prevent negligent injury, reduce risk, and make responsible decisions when weapons are present.
For responsible citizens and professionals alike, learning these skills is not about fear—it is about preparedness, accountability, and the confidence that comes from understanding how to safely manage a powerful tool.
If a rifle is present in your home—or if you are considering owning one—training is not optional. Training is responsibility.
Take the first step toward becoming confident, capable, and informed.
